On June 30, CATO Research Chemicals topped out the primary structure of its new global headquarters in Guangzhou — a ~30,466 m² campus combining R&D, testing, and client-facing space. The milestone marks a key step in CATO's transformation from a reference standards company into a broader chemical enterprise, with the new campus set to support two core business lines: pharmacopeial reference standards and new functional materials.
On June 30, the primary structure of the new global headquarters of CATO Research Chemicals (Guangzhou CATO Research Chemicals Co., Ltd.) officially reached topping-out. It's a defining milestone in the project's construction timeline — and an equally defining moment in CATO's evolution into its next chapter of growth.
A Bold Vision, Built to Last
The new headquarters is more than a construction milestone — it's a physical marker of CATO's strategic transformation from a reference standards company into a broader chemical enterprise. The scale of the project reflects the scope of that ambition:
Total floor area: approximately 30,466.21 m²
Main structure: a 10-story main tower and a 6-story annex, totaling roughly 27,000 m² above ground
Underground level: one basement level spanning approximately 3,472.54 m²
Once complete, the campus will bring together R&D, testing and validation, and brand experience under one roof — a modern research hub designed to connect CATO with partners worldwide and showcase the company's full strength as an industry leader.
From Structure to Substance: The Next Phase Begins
With the structure now topped out, construction moves into its next phase: masonry work, mechanical and electrical installation, and interior fit-out. Once operational, the new headquarters will support CATO's growth across several fronts:
